A dangerous adventure (Homework 24th May)

Last year my friend and I were feeling adventurous and so we decided to go to Turkey.  We love to eat international food. Turkish food is said the top of three of the best delicious food in the world. We deliberated on our plan to go around many cities of Turkey to enjoy a lot of local specialities. I really look forward to eating it! We named our trip, 'The feast'.
In preparation for our trip, I had bought a guidebook of Turkey, and then I researched into local specialities and booked accommodation on the internet. We made a schedule of the trip, so it seemed to be perfect.
As we set off on the first day of our adventure, we were wearing a t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a pair of trainer shoes. These were my everyday clothes. I have thought whether I should buy new clothes for this trip at first, but I didn't. There were no special reason, by the way. We arrived at Turkey almost three hours later since we had left our city.
We looked around the first city after we left our luggage in the hotel. Although it was the rural and small city in Turkey, I could see a lot of stalls. We were so excited! We bought a kebab, and then we looked for a bench that to eat the kebab and we could take a rest there at the same time. A little while later, we heard a growl. We turned around and saw a stray dog, which saw our kebab! Also, the stray dog seemed to be savage and starving. We realised that we were definitely in danger.
We immediately ran away, but the stray dog had chased us at once. We desperately ran and I dropped my kebab. It has caught the dog's attention. The dog stopped to eat the kebab, so we were running to far away. Eventually, we could escape from it. The most reason was my kebab that we could escape. However, we wore casual clothes and our shoes were fit us. If we had worn new clothes or shoes, we hadn't been able to ran away completely.
Later that day, we met a group of people who had been eating a local special that we had never eaten. We asked them where we could get that. They replied they would lead us to the place where we could buy the local special. While they suggested us if we could have a dinner time together. We thought it would be fun to spend some time with them so we arranged to go to a restaurant, which was the most famous one in that city.
The best thing that happened to us was on the last day. We met the same stray dog again! We started to run away immediately, but the dog wasn't savage then. The dog just ignored and went pass us. It was so weird! Anyway, it was the perfect ending to an unusual day.

                                     11th May 2011

Hello Amelia,

Thanks a lot for your letter which I receieved on 5th May, I'd love to be your new pen friend!

I enjoyed reading your letter. Please tell me more about you, your family and your friends in next letter.
What kind of books do you like? Where do you usually go on holiday?
Since I like reading the books and travelling, also I prefer to hear about it from someone.
If you have some hobbies, I want to know it as well. I like cooking, too, by the way.

I'm from a big family. There are three of us, two men and a woman that it's me.
I'm the middle in the family. My elder and younger brothers are married and only I live at home now with my mother in Japan.
My elder brother often visit us with his family, and I take care of my niece and nephew then.
It's a good fun playing with them.
My younger brother got married last year, here's a photo of me and my family, including my brothers' taken at his wedding party. I've put the names on the back. Please ask me if you can't know who's who.
I hope that you like the photo!

I worked in insurance company, but I've left there recently, because I'm going to move to England to study English. Also I'll make a study of food science. It's the first time I live on my own. Though  I'm just little bit of afraid, it's so exciting!
Of course, I'll send a letter to you immediately when I arrive at England!

Anyway, I'm really pleased to be in touch with you and I can't wait to hear from you again as soon as possible.

Best wishes,

Yoko
